Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern all services provided by Vantage Drain Services. By instructing Vantage Drain Services to carry out work, requesting a quotation, or allowing work to commence, the Customer confirms that they have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
These terms apply to all services undertaken by Vantage Drain Services for residential customers, landlords, commercial clients, property managers and businesses.
These Terms and Conditions apply whether services are arranged verbally, in writing, online or via telephone.
If any part of these Terms and Conditions is deemed unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to remain in full force.
2. Company Information
Vantage Drain Services is a drainage and plumbing services provider offering inspection, investigation, repair and maintenance services for drainage systems.
The Company operates across various areas and provides services to homeowners, landlords, businesses and property managers.
Services may be provided to residential properties, rental properties, commercial premises, offices, retail units, industrial buildings and mixed-use properties.
3. Scope of Services
Vantage Drain Services provides a range of drainage and related services including but not limited to:
- Drain unblocking
- CCTV drain surveys
- Drain inspections
- Drain repairs
- Drain relining
- High pressure drain jetting
- Excavation and drainage repairs
- Emergency plumbing services
- Drainage investigations
Services may involve inspection, cleaning, repair, excavation or installation work depending on the condition of the drainage system and the work required.
The Company will carry out services using reasonable care and skill and in accordance with standard industry practices.
4. Estimates and Quotations
Any estimate or quotation provided by the Company is based on the information available at the time of inspection or discussion with the Customer.
Due to the hidden nature of drainage systems, additional defects or complications may be discovered during the course of works.
Where additional work is required, the Customer will be informed and approval will be sought where reasonably possible before continuing with additional works.
Quotations may be subject to time limits and may change due to fluctuations in material costs, labour costs or site conditions.
5. Emergency Call-Out Services
The Company provides emergency drainage and plumbing services where immediate attention is required.
Emergency works may involve temporary solutions designed to reduce immediate damage or restore basic function until permanent repairs can be carried out.
Emergency services may incur call-out charges depending on the time, location and nature of the service required.
6. Drain Unblocking Services
The Company will make reasonable efforts to clear blockages within drainage systems.
However, blockages may occur due to a variety of reasons including:
- Foreign objects within pipework
- Grease or fat build-up
- Wet wipes or sanitary products
- Root ingress
- Collapsed pipework
- Structural defects within drainage systems
In situations where the blockage cannot be cleared due to structural issues or severe obstructions, additional investigation or repair works may be recommended.
The Company cannot guarantee that all blockages will be successfully cleared where underlying drainage defects exist.
7. High Pressure Drain Jetting
High pressure water jetting is commonly used to clear blockages and clean internal pipe surfaces.
While jetting is an effective method for clearing blockages, older drainage systems or pipework in poor condition may already contain structural weaknesses.
The use of high pressure water jetting may expose existing defects or structural failures within pipework that were previously hidden.
The Company shall not be liable for damage caused by pre-existing structural defects revealed during jetting operations.
8. CCTV Drain Surveys
CCTV drain surveys are conducted using specialist camera equipment inserted into drainage systems.
These surveys allow visual inspection of pipework and can identify blockages, cracks, root ingress, collapsed sections and other defects.
Survey findings are based on conditions visible at the time of inspection.
Certain limitations may apply including:
- Sections of pipework that are inaccessible
- Areas obstructed by blockages
- Hidden structural defects not visible to the camera
- Pipework buried behind structures or surfaces
The Company cannot guarantee that every drainage defect will be identified during a survey where access is limited.
9. Excavation and Drainage Repairs
Some drainage repairs require excavation in order to expose underground pipework.
Excavation works may involve digging through surfaces such as soil, gravel, paving, driveways or landscaped areas.
The Company will take reasonable care when carrying out excavation work, however the Customer acknowledges that excavation may cause disturbance to surfaces and surrounding areas.
Reinstatement of surfaces may vary depending on the type of surface and materials available.
10. Underground Services
Customers are responsible for informing the Company of any known underground services including:
- Water pipes
- Gas pipes
- Electrical cables
- Telecommunications lines
- Private utility services
Where such information is not disclosed or services are not clearly marked, the Company cannot accept responsibility for damage to undisclosed underground services.
11. Water Supply Requirements
Certain drainage services, including high pressure jetting, require access to a water supply.
Customers are expected to provide access to a suitable water supply where reasonably possible.
If no water supply is available and water must be sourced from an alternative location, additional charges may apply for time, transportation and water sourcing costs.
12. Customer Responsibilities
The Customer agrees to provide safe and reasonable access to the property and work areas.
Customers must ensure that:
- Work areas are free from hazards
- Pets and animals are controlled
- Access routes are unobstructed
- Relevant property information is disclosed where known
Failure to provide safe access may result in delays or suspension of works.
13. Payment Terms
Payment for services is due immediately upon completion of the works unless otherwise agreed in writing.
For commercial customers, payment terms may be agreed separately and typically fall within 7 days of invoice.
Failure to make payment within the agreed timeframe may result in additional recovery costs and interest being applied in accordance with applicable legislation.
The Company reserves the right to suspend further work where outstanding balances remain unpaid.
14. Insurance Claim Introductions
Where appropriate, Vantage Drain Services may introduce customers to a regulated loss assessor or claims management company to assist with property insurance claims.
Vantage Drain Services does not provide loss assessor or claims management services and does not negotiate or manage insurance claims on behalf of customers.
Any claim handling services will be provided directly by the appointed loss assessor under their own terms and mandate agreement.
